Practising what we preach. Every result, in public.

I ask patients to measure, act and retest. So I’m doing the same: the same six tests, the same equipment, retested every 8 weeks, with honest updates on what I’m changing and what’s working.

The numbers

Every result, every retest

Results from the Health Autonomy assessment, retested every 8 weeks on the same equipment, plus my average daily steps each month. Each card shows the latest result and how it has changed since the first test.

These are one person’s results, shared to show how the assessment and retesting work. They aren’t medical advice, and everyone’s results are different. The assessment is a health and fitness baseline, not a medical diagnosis.

Updates

What I’m doing, and how it’s going

A short update each month: training, sleep, nutrition, steps, what’s working and what isn’t.

October 2026

The starting line

I’ve been an osteopath for 20 years, and I’ve spent a lot of that time telling people that stiffness, weakness and poor balance aren’t just “getting older”. Most of it can be improved. I created Health Autonomy to prove it, and this journal is me putting myself through exactly what I ask of patients.

I know recovery first-hand. After acute brachial neuritis and spondylolisthesis, I rebuilt my fitness and went on to complete the Roc Triathlon adventure race in Wales. Now I want to see what the numbers say.

This month I’m taking my baseline assessment: body composition, AGE Reader, ECG, heart rate variability, spirometry and force plates. My results will go up here as soon as I have them, good or bad, followed by my plan for the next 8 weeks.
